21 May Event Staff Announcement re: Richard Dell
On behalf of Jim Day (Director, Event Operations & Security)
As some of you may have already heard Richard Dell passed away yesterday. Rick was approaching his 25th anniversary working with Canucks Sports & Entertainment as he was hired in August of 1995 when we opened General Motors Place. Rick also worked for the BC Sheriff Services for many years.
I am sure many of you have been met by a smile and friendly hello from Rick over the years and you will miss his presence at Rogers Arena. Rick was a mentor to many people and he will be deeply missed.
On a personal note I have worked with Rick for 25 years at General Motors Place/Rogers Arena and I appreciated the dedication and professionalism he brought to work everyday. He was always a calming voice in what sometimes can be a difficult job. But what I will miss most is his friendship.
Rick will be missed dearly and he has left a legacy with us that will not be forgotten. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “It is not length of life, but depth of life”.
I will miss you my friend.
Jim
