October’s Monthly Safety Focus (MSF) – Emergency & Earthquake Preparedness

Did you know BC is one of the most seismically active regions in the world, with more than 3,000 earthquakes occurring annually? Do you know what to do if an earthquake occurred in the arena? Drop, Cover and Hold On!
  1. If you feel shaking, immediately drop to your hands and knees. An earthquake is less likely to knock you over in this position.
  2. Cover your head and neck with your arms.
  3. If you are able, hold on to your seat with one hand while protecting your head with the other.
To find out more, check review the Monthly Safety Focus (MSF)! These fact sheets are posted in change rooms, break rooms and on the Health & Safety boards.
