Appearance Standards (Event Staff)

The personal appearance of our employees is a very important aspect of the image of Canucks Sports & Entertainment. We want to ensure every representation of our brand is professional and thoughtful. At the same time, we want to build a Company where a level of self-expression, empowerment and inclusion are accepted.

Therefore, to ensure that we maintain a consistent and professional look, all employees are required to meet minimum appearance standards identified below.

HAIR

Hair must be kept neat, clean and styled in a professional manner. Hair colour is permitted, however it should be permanent or semi-permanent. Facial hair must be neatly trimmed.  Managers reserve the right to restrict extreme hair colouring, particularly in premium locations.

MAKE-UP

Make-up must be subtle and natural in appearance.

TATTOOS

Conservative, visible tattoos are allowed but not on your face or throat. Treat tattoos the same way you treat speech in the workplace. You cannot swear, make hateful comments or inappropriate jokes at work, and neither can your tattoos. Managers reserve the right to request any extreme or inappropriate tattoos be covered.

JEWELERY

Jewelry should be kept conservative, professional and to a minimum, with no extreme visible body piercings. Earrings should be small to moderately sized. A small nose stud or ring is allowed.

PERSONAL HYGIENE

Employees must maintain the highest standard of personal hygiene. The use of strong, heavy scents and fragrances is not permitted.

FINGERNAILS

Employees working on the Concourse may wear all black running shoes (must have black soles and laces and worn with black socks). Some positions may require employees to wear their own safety shoes.

NAME TAGS

Employees issued a name tag must wear it at all times while at work. The name tag should be clearly visible and worn evenly on the chest opposite the logo.

NAME BADGES AND PINS

We are a “first name” organization. Name badges are part of the uniform and play an important role in our delivery of fan service. All team members have been issued a name badge, which must be worn in an upright, readable position on the side opposite to the Canucks logo and above the uniform pocket or approximately five inches down from the shoulder in the absence of a pocket. The name badge should be transferred to coats and jackets as required to ensure it is always visible to the fan. (Lost name badges are subject to a replacement fee). Lanyards must be in Canucks colours.

WEATHER-RELATED ACCESSORIES

Sunglasses are a block to interpersonal communication and should be removed when speaking with a fan. They may only be worn when working outdoors in the direct sun. Style should be conservative and complement the uniform. Oversized, neon, bright coloured, jeweled or mirrored sunglasses are unacceptable. Black gloves and toques (free of logos and advertising) may be worn when working outside in cold weather. Team members will not be permitted to wear these items when working inside.
